Crock-Pot Taco Chili

I don’t know about you, but I love a warm hearty meal during a Midwest Winter. Crock-Pot Taco Chili is a scrumptious option for dinner tonight.

There is nothing better than curling up on the couch and letting the aroma fill your home. For me, this means cooking Chili based on my mood- white chili, easy chili, and taco chili.

To start the week, we are going to begin with a new crock-pot recipe, Taco Chili. This takes your standard chili and spices is up! I love the crockpot taco chili because it is easy, quick and full of flavor.

Crock-Pot Taco Chili Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 14 oz cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 small can green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions for Crock-Pot Taco Chili

  1. Mix all the spices in a small bowl.
  2. Place turkey or ground beef with onions on the bottom of the crock pot.
  3. Layer canned tomatoes, green chilies, and corn on top.
  4. Finish by sprinkling mixed spices.
  5. Turn your crock pot on high for one hour.
  6. Continue to cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  7. Serve with shredded cheese, cilantro, chopped green onions, corn chips, or your favorite toppings!

Not ready to eat the chili today, place all the ingredients in a freezer bag, stir well, and freeze until ready. It is a great meal to make today and eat tomorrow!
